This video was taken from the main lounge of the Sémaphore.  Two waves break just outside: the Pointe de Lervily and Ile aux vaches. Both are reef breaks.

At high tide, the wave breaks just outside the Semaphore and is called the “Pointe de Lervily”. It is a long right, very powerful and ledgy. It is a steep drop, not for the faint hearted. On large winter storm, the wave can reach up to 6m.  Lots of rocks and boils so this is definitely not for beginners. Expert only

At low tide, the wave breaks at the tip of the Ile aux Vaches a little bit towards the left. It is more exposed to wind and is a favourite of windsurfers.
